Year 6 Camp.

On Week five the week of year six camp all year sixes went to Kawau Island. We first traveled on a bus then ate morning tea then jumped on a fairy boat it was fun. I was lucky because I got to sit on the top of the boat.

We arrived at Kawau Island we first cleared the boat and took all the big bags off then we got into our lines getting ready to do our hike. I was so unprepared and so not ready. I was nervous I was thinking ohh this is gonna be hard. Nick Minute my legs were exhausted and tired I just wanted to fall.  I still made it after the big hike we had a nice cool relaxing swim and jumped off the wharf.

We arrived at Kawau Island we first cleared the boat and took all the big bags off then we got into our lines getting ready to do our hike. I was so unprepared and so not ready. I was nervous I was thinking ohh this is gonna be hard. On day three we continued doing activities and having fun. We got lots of free time playing volleyball when we finished our activities while waiting for the others kids finishing their activity. We had lot’s of fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

I would like to thank Peter and Erin for an awesome camp and all the teachers and Parent helpers for making this camp happen. All the year sixes had a great time and enjoyed Kawau Island. Also a big thank you  to the chef who cooked our three meals everyday the food was on point and delicious.

I enjoyed sail spending time at Kawau Island and eating the chef’s food I had lots of fun. I learnt how to sail and learnt abseil I then felt like having a little sail boat.

Task Description: This is my recount about the year 6 camp on Kawau Island. I had to retell what I did at Kawau Island. It is a really fun camp and camp Bentzon has lot's of cool activities.

X-Country

Walt: structure a recount

Last week on Friday we had our cross country running race. It was really hot, but really muddy and wet. Have you ever done cross country before?

Before the year 6 girls raced we played games and chatted a lot. I was really nervous, but excited at the same time. I watched some of the little kid’s racing and it was interesting. I enjoyed playing hand games with my friends. I was happy seeing my Mum my aunty my nana and my sister coming to support me. Suddenly Mrs Nua  came and called the year 6 girls to follow her to the start line. On Your Marks….. Get Set…... GO! The clapper went CLAP!

I sprinted my way around the first cone it was muddy and went all over my legs, SPLAT! I ran on the bike track and out of the gate we went. It was so muddy I thought my shorts were covered in mud. I found it hard running in the mud because my feet kept getting stuck. I was tired and exhausted I didn’t want to stop at all so I continued.

Near the finish line my friend Amelia was in front of me I wanted to gas her before we finish the race. I sprinted my hardest and boom I just got past and came 6th, Amelia came 7th. I was so happy because I completed the race. I went straight to the water station because I was thirsty,and then went to my mum and sister and said hi, they said that they were very proud of me.

I learnt that I should not sprint in the start and jog then sprint the other half. I will do that next time or I will just practice more and sprint the whole way next year. I will also try harder so I can get closer to the person that’s in the lead.

Task Description: I learnt about Satellites. I also designed my own Satellite.  Today I learnt what a Satellite does and how it works.

Picture Book.

Bunny 1 and Bunny 2 built a rocket to find a moon. Looking in the sky so high shining light in their eyes, a bright moon shining just for two cool guys.

Bunny 1 and Bunny 2 had their big rocket just for 2. It’s black and blue ready for blast off. 5,4,3,2,1 BLAST OFF!

Landing on a rocky planet this is not the right planet. Bunny 1 and Bunny 2 felt the heat go right through. Mercury the smallest and nearest planet to the sun. Bunny 1 and Bunny 2 can’t breathe without their suit. Off they went to planet 2.

On planet 2 Bunny 1 and Bunny 2 landed on VENUS! Bunny 1 sat down to have a rest, AWWWWW! My BUM BUM. Bunny 2 said “We can’t breathe with out our suit, off we go to planet 2 the 2nd planet from the sun”.

“There is Earth” said Bunny 1 let’s go right past to planet 3.

BOOM! “What a crash at least our rocket is still healed” said Bunny 1. “Mars the 3rd planet from th e sun” yelled Bunny 2.  Bunny 1 said “I am pretty sure this is the 4th planet from the sun. Bunny 2 said “not this planet it is pretty plain and we can’t breathe without our suit off we go to planet 5.

Bunny 1 said “we are on the largest planet wee pee we have had a very long travel”. Bunny 1 and Bunny 2 both said “I miss Earth let’s go to 3 more planet’s and go home. “Off we go to planet 6” they said happily.

“Wow look at the ring’s the rings are made out of rocks this book says” said Bunny 2. They hopped and yelped playing tag on Saturn’s Rings. Suddenly they some how landed in their rocket “OFF WE GO TO PLANET 7” they said together.

“Wow look at this pretty blue planet” said Bunny 1. “Cold Cold Cold” said Bunny 2. “OK off we go to planet 8” said Bunny 1.

“Wow look at us we have discovered all these 8 planets” said Bunny 2. “Yea i’m really hungry let’s head back to earth” said Bunny 1. They both said together “off we go to planet 3”.

“Earth yay home I am so hungry” said Bunny 1.  “Yeah I agree” said Bunny 2.  “Wow Earth look’s so bright from here” said Bunny 1, “Yeah” Bunny 2 said. Boom the rocket safely crashed into the crash pit.

Problem Solving - Addition.

Space Adventure.

Walt: structure a narrative piece of writing.
It is 4017 and my creative spaceship is finished I am going on a trip to a new planet for everyone in the world. I am going with my buddy the Talking Tiger. He is smart and acts like a human. My smart buddy Talking Tiger created most of this rocket ship it is big enough for 2 people. Me and Talking Tiger is looking for a new planet for people on earth. People are being disrespectful to the earth so we will find another planet immediately.

It has been weeks and we still haven't found the right planet. My plan is to find a planet half facing towards the sun and the other half towards the moon. We are about to go through some massive rocks and I will have to fly gently through them. The spaceship was small enough to fit through the small gaps. Suddenly…... BOOM! What a crash me and Talking Tiger hopped out and I also had a planet book in my pocket. Suddenly I saw some weird ALIENS!

Me and Talking Tiger heard an extreme yell “AHHHHHHHHHH”! It was squeaky and one of the alien yelled “HUMAN HUMAN HUMAN HUMAN” Talking Tiger said “i’m not a human I am a Tiger”. I said “it is alright we won’t hurt you at least you won’t hurt us lets just be friends and make peace PLEASE”. “Fine but don’t bring your evil weapons” the aliens said all together. I said “but we don’t have any" I replied. The aliens were too scared so they still locked us up.

“Ok I will make you a deal if the humans on earth can take your planet I can find you another planet…………ummmmm what about the Jupiter I will fly all of you there” I said. The Alien leader answered “Ok we could make that a deal but if it does not happen and you dont take us we will let you suffer without your astronaut mask” I replied “I promise it will happen”. The last problem is we need to fit all of you in the space ship it’s only big enough for two. “Me and Talking Tiger will go back home and make a massive space shipbig enough for the world and for all of you’s”. “Ok” the Alien said. “But Me and Talking Tiger will just need time we will also repay you snacks” I said. “Deal Deal Deal” the Alien said with excitement.

Arriving in the backyard it took two years to create another space ship. It was huge four times bigger than an elephant. Talking Tiger and I made our way back to the alien planet we got all the aliens evacuated and safely to the Jupiter planet. Then we made our way to the earth and got everything, we needed packed clothes and also traveled safely "back to the Alien planet" me and Talking Tiger said.
