Fair Trade!

Task Description: This week for math we were put into 5 groups of 4-5. Each 
group were a country and we each had made up names for our country
from our teacher Mrs Stone. Each group had 5 things Coffee, Gold, Oil, Lumber and 
Electronics. Well the whole point of this was we were playing a little trading game where we 
could trade the items we had with the other groups to hopefully make profit. The aim of this game
was to become the wealthiest country out of the other 4 country's.

Morse Code

Did you know in New Zealand this week is math week. So in Math our teacher Mrs Stone put us into little groups I was with Naomi, Amelia and Jaylim so there were four of us. There were 7 groups altogether and after we found out what our groups were we were told to go to a table. Mrs Stone then came around the classroom handing out 3 papers, one paper had the key to solving the questions that were on the other 2 papers. I think it was fun working together as a team to work out the questions together.

Daring Decimals

Its the last week of school and we learnt how to convert decimals and how to add
and subtract decimals.  We also learnt how to change a fraction into a decimal then 
into a percentage or a decimal into a fraction then to a percentage.

Facile Fractions

Walt ~ We are learning to find fractions of a whole set
Task Description ~ In math's we have been learning what a equivalent fraction is and how to add fractions that have the same denominator. We learnt how to also find fractions of a whole set.

Tantalizing Transformation.

Task Description ~ This week Room 4 Math's class has been learning to Transform shapesusing Reflection, Rotation and Translation.

Maths Slides.

Walt: apply a range of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems.
Task Description - This is a presentation of maths. There is a slide for year 7's and year 8's and if you wanted you could do a year 9 slide. I choose to only do year 7 & 8 slides.

Intro To Room 4 Maths!

Task Description: Introduction to room 4 maths. This is maths problem from year 7 to 9 but I couldn't do the 9 or understand it so I deleted the year 9 maths slides.

B.E.D.M.A.S Challenge!

Walt-We are learning to use the correct order of operations to solve algebraic equations.
Task Description - Today we did a B.E.D.M.A.S Challenge where we just solve 6
equations. To do B.E.D.M.A.S you have to solve the equation your trying to do in the
order of B.E.D.M.A.S, Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

B.E.D.M.A.S

Task Description: Today under 20 minutes my math's class did this B.E.D.M.A.S 
presentation I found it easy and I can't wait to do more. The way to do BEDMAS is that you have work the problem out in the order to get the correct answer.

Maths Problem!

Walt - We are learning to illustrate each problem we solve.

Task Description - This is my third problem for this week and I have used money pictures to show how I solved this problem using pictures. On the left side I used numbers for the problem. On the right side I used the money pictures and on the right end I added 3 other pictures that represent the problem.

Task Description: This is my problem solving. I solved fractions 1 third of 30 and 1 fifth of 30 = something and I found out that the answer is 14.

Task Description: My problem solving was about understanding fractions. Times Tables are pretty much the same as fractions. Like divided by's and times tables are fractions. But using timetables to solve fractions are a lot easier.
