Trying Foods.

Today in Room 4 we tried a delicious Empanada which is a traditional dish in Argentina. It is a pastry pocket fulled of meat. It looks like a sausage roll with a golden crispy pastry color. But it is like a flat dumpling shape. The mince is a brownie, red color because of the spice. The Empanada had Capsicum, Mince, Onion, Sugar and Spice filled in it.

My first bite I called taste the golden pastry on the outside and the sweet mince on the inside. The edges were crunchy and the sweetness overpowered the spice. I personally don't agree with the raisins being in this dish because it makes the Empanada too sweet.

The Empanada is originally from Europe in Spain. The reason this dish ended up in Argentina because Spanish people colonized Argentina.

  1. Hi Paikea,

I love the way that you described the taste of the empanada. This paragraph used lots of good vocabulary and you expressed your ideas really clearly. Next time lets check the grammar of the other sentences - e.g. "filled in it" could have been "it is filled with". Keep using descriptive language like this in your writing!
