Year 5/6 Camp 2017

Walt: write about our experiences on camp.

Have you been on the year 5 & 6 camp before, on your school ground? The year 5 & 6 slept in tents on Pt England school field we would sleep with 2-4 kids. We did all sorts of fun activities Killer Zone,Youth Town,Get Lost,Kayaking,Dance practice. This camp started in 1991 and it has now been running for 27 years.

Camp is when you explore and have fun and also sleep in tents. We had our camp in 2017 Term 1 week 6. We have camp’s because we need to use our beautiful environment outside our school that God have given us. We also have camp to have fun.

I like kayaking because it was funny when people fall of their kayak’s. I also enjoyed killer zone because we won. Sleeping was cool as well because I got lots of rest from my big day.

I would like to say a big thank you to Mr Burt for having this opportunity for us to have this fun camp. I would also like to thank the cook’s who cooked us beautiful dinner. Thank you to my mum for letting me go to camp.  Thank you Whaea Saf for playing your guitar and cooking for us.

In the future I would love to got to the concert and see their dance moves. I have learnt a lot of fun games I could play at home. I am really excited to go to the year 6 camp this year.

Task Description: This is a fun writing about my experience at camp last week. I had a cool camp and I have wrote some things I did.

Camp Is Coming Up.

Walt: Write a good punctuation.
Have you ever been on camp before? Well the year 5 and 6 camp is coming up. I am really excited. I am looking forward to be going to the pool’s on Friday. I am excited to go down the slide.

I am hoping that we will be able to do kayaking. I find kayaking fun, because it is funny if you fall in the water. I have done kayaking before, and hope it won’t be raining when it is our turn. I am also hoping we can watch the angry bird movie.

I am nervous about performing and dancing on stage. Also a little excited but nervous. I will just do my best. I hope we will be ready and knowing our dance before Friday night.

Task Description: My class needed to write about camp coming up in two days. As you can see that we really needed to do our introduction, and it had to be about what we are looking forward to at camp. Also the next paragraph is about what we are hoping for. Of course lucky last is about what are we nervous about camp.

Native Birds Non-Native Birds in NZ.

Walt: write persuasively
I think we should have more kiwi’s in New Zealand because I hardly see any. I also think it would be cool if I saw kiwi’s in Tāmaki. I wish we had more native birds especially kiwi’s because I think they are well known.  I like kiwi’s to be in Tāmaki because they are special. I think I should see kiwi’s in Tāmaki.

I think we should have more Tui’s in Tāmaki because I don’t see Tui’s in Tāmaki  but only forest. I like Tui’s to be in Tāmaki because they are special. Tui’s are really cool I like their little white ball on their chest.

I think we should get less pigeon’s because they are annoying. They sometimes fly though our classroom. I also mostly see them instead of native bird’s. I wish I saw more native birds in Tāmaki
then non-native because non-native are not as special as New Zealand native. I think we need less nonnative bird’s.

I think we need more native birds in Tāmaki and less non-native bird’s because New Zealand native birds are hardly seen in Tāmaki. I reckon it will be cool if I could see more kiwi’s in Tāmaki. I hope to see less non-native birds and more native birds in Tāmaki in the future.

Task Description: We needed to explain why we need more native birds and less non-native birds. I hope to see less non-native birds and more native birds in Tāmaki in the future. Please Leave a Comment

The Race

Walt: Learning hot to write a recount
Have you ever wrote a story about you running before? Well guess what Mr Goodwin said we were going to do a lame experience. I was a little excited.

Mr Goodwin told us to put our chrome books away on a table or somewhere safe. It was strange. Next he told us to line up outside the classroom. We walked quietly towards the field and stood between the goal post. I was thinking we were going to run across the field.

Mr Goodwin told us instructions he said from here we have to run to the other side of the goal post and back. He also said that we needed to be quiet for the other classes. I was like what. Next Mr Goodwin said we had to sprint and I knew I would get tired. Mr Goodwin said GO!

I sprinted to the goal post the grabbed pole turned around and started puffing. I started to jog half of the way back and then I sprinted the rest to get it over and done with. I dropped to the ground and puffing I was tired.  I did not like it so I hope we never do that ever again.

Mr Goodwin put us in line's he said “I'll put you in 2 lines and you will get a number 1 or 2. I was in line 1. The line were for which drinking fountain we had to go to. I felt thirsty and tired. The water made me stop puffing and I felt better.

Task Description: We had tell a recount about us running on the field. We also are practicing for a writing test tomorrow. I liked what I wrote. Please leave a comment.
